Keegan Tinney is a lifelong resident of Joplin, MO. A 2011 graduate of Joplin High School and 2015 graduate of Missouri Southern State University (MSSU), Keegan received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law in December 2017. Keegan studied political science at MSSU, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma fraternity, a Southern Ambassador, and was team captain of the university’s Mock Trial team. Additionally, Keegan completed two legislative internships with Missouri Senate Majority Leader, Ron Richard, during his undergraduate career.

Keegan continued his interest in Mock Trial competition at UMKC’s School of Law. He was awarded Top Advocate at the Stetson Law School Mock Trial competition, coached two UMKC Mock Trial teams, and was a semi-finalist in the American Bar Association National Criminal Justice competition. Keegan was also a member of Phi Alpha Delta legal fraternity, Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA) law students’ association, and the American Association for Justice (AAJ) mock trial team.

In addition to working as a law clerk for Sticklen Dreyer Tinney since 2014, Keegan has also clerked for the Jasper County Prosecutor’s office and the Cherokee County (Kansas) Prosecutor’s office. He also continues to be an active member of Missouri Boys State, currently serving as a senior staff member and as a part of the organization’s Operations staff.

Keegan is a member of the Missouri Bar Association, the Missouri Association of Trial Attorneys (MATA), the Jasper County Bar Association, and the Boone County Bar Association. Keegan has also been elected to the Order of the Barristers, a national honorary organization whose purpose is the encouragement of oral advocacy and brief writing skills through effective law school appellate moot court and mock trial programs. The Order recognizes, on a national basis, graduating law students who have excelled in moot court and mock trial activities in their respective law schools.

Keegan will be focusing his practice on automobile accidents, trucking accidents, motorcycle accidents, worker’s compensation, and premises liability cases.
