At Sticklen & Sticklen, we believe that being part of a community means supporting it in every way we can. We are thrilled to announce our partnership with the Community Blood Center of the Ozarks (CBCO) to help promote and support their critical mission of providing blood to local hospitals. Our first sponsored in-center blood drive is scheduled for August 18th through August 22nd, 2025, at the Joplin Donor Center. We encourage everyone in our community to “Go Wild” and donate blood during this event to help save lives.
Why Blood Donation is So Important
The need for blood is constant, and every donation makes a real difference. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks is the sole provider of blood to all area hospitals, making their work essential for the health and safety of our friends and neighbors. The blood you donate could be used for emergency surgeries, cancer treatments, or for those with chronic illnesses. By taking just a little time out of your day to give blood, you are providing a lifeline to someone in need. It’s a simple act of kindness that has a profound impact.
How to Prepare for Your Donation
If you are planning to donate blood, there are a few simple steps you can take to make the process as smooth as possible. The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks recommends that you eat well and drink plenty of fluids before your donation. It’s also important to remember to bring a photo ID with you to the donor center.
Our sponsored blood drive will be held at the Joplin Donor Center, located at 2318 E 32nd St, Joplin, MO 64801. To make an appointment and check center hours, you can visit the CBCO website. As a special thank you for all donors during our sponsored week, you will receive a free t-shirt and two admissions to the Dickerson Park Zoo, while supplies last.
